Motobu Gyu Origins
There are many types of authentic Japanese Wagyu, such as Miyazaki Wagyu and Hokkaido Wagyu, which are primarily differentiated by where the cattle are raised. For Motobu Gyu, the place of origin is Okinawa Prefecture, where the cattle consume a unique diet that includes fermented brewer's grains and molasses from Orion Beer. The fermentation process creates a unique type of cattle feed that's rich in fiber and easy to digest.
Preparing Wagyu Beef
Like all A5 Japanese Wagyu, Motobu Gyu features exquisite fat marbling that results in a tender, luscious texture. It also has a somewhat-sweet flavor profile. In order to preserve that rich taste, Motobu Gyu should be seasoned sparingly and cooked for a short time on high heat. This helps to create a delicious sear while maintaining Motobu Gyu's melt-in-your-mouth flavors. At The Wagyu Shop™, you can choose from a number of exclusive products, including Motobu Gyu ribeye steaks, filet mignon, whole tenderloin and more. Enjoy an at-home dining experience featuring restaurant-quality ingredients with this premium A5 Motobu Gyu beef.
